The Nature Education team at Metro engages the public with programs designed to be culturally relevant, responsive and respect multiple ways of knowing. The team strives to empower participants to further their own relationships with the land and rivers of the Pacific Northwest. Walks and other programs are held year round in parks and natural areas across the region. These are open for groups and individuals of all ages, generally held Tuesday through Friday and are about two to four hours in length. Topics range by season and may include wetland, river, or forest ecosystems, land stewardship, ancient trees, mushrooms, salmon and more.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, we are not currently scheduling group programs. Please check in with us directly for updates on any COVID-19 impacts to programming. You can reach the voicemail box at 503-220-2782 or email NatureEducation@oregonmetro.gov
